Abstract: The aim of this research is to analyze and attempt to identify the presence of a designer’s thinking process. To do this, we will provide a summary of the design thinking methodology and an analysis of the concept of user experience (UX). We will present a few definitions of « designer’s thinking ». We will then analyze the role of the designer in a multidisciplinary project context. Through interviews with design practitioners and non-design practitioners, we will attempt to identify a potential common process and the place of the Design Thinking methodology within it. Can Design Thinking be considered as a schematization of the cognitive process shared by designers? What elements influence the conception of a cognitive design thinking process? How does the designer fit into a wider multidisciplinary project environment?
Keywords: Design process, design thinking, collaboration, flexibility.
