The effect of the main experimental parameters was evaluated: solvent, temperature, pH, methicillin initial concentration and contact time. The adsorption capacity of OSH was evaluated by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HLPC) coupled to UV detection at 238 nm. The OSH-Met complexes were characterized by means Attenuated Total Reflectance &#8211; Fourier Transform InfraRed (ATR &#8211; FTIR) spectroscopy. Adsorption isotherm models (Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin) and kinetic models (pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second order and intraparticle diffusion) were studied. The optimal batch adsorption was conducted in ethanol, pH 7, 40 \u00b0C, with an initial concentration of methicillin of 200 mg L-1 for 300 min (5 h).
